The American Academy of Ophthalmology has launched and online Community, the hub of education and connections for its online presence. The Online Community is a one-stop hub for networking, clinical pearls and questions, the ONE Network, EyeNet, and more.
The easiest way to contribute! Read EyeNet articles or check out clinical information (news, grand rounds, videos) on the ONE Network. Share a comment or make a recommendation.
Click on “Persona” at the top of the page to go to your community persona – your “face” to the community. Upload an avatar photo, write a blog post, upload photos into your personal gallery, connect with colleagues using the “View/Find Friends” feature.

The AAO has created groups -- “mini communities” -- around areas of common interest, starting with ophthalmic subspecialties. In a group, you can start discussions (ask a question, post a poll, share interesting cases), upload photos or videos, write a blog entry and more.
Interested in starting a new group? There’s a form for that – click the blue box on the main Groups page.

The “Leaderboard” (link at the top of the page) keeps track of community contributions and how many merits a member has earned.

Let the AAO know what you think! Post something in the Community Lounge group to share your thoughts with the whole community.
