Seeking Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Mohwak Valley/Central New York State Growing/successful practice seeks a third ophthalmologist that is fellowship trained in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus.  Practice includes two general ophthalmologists who saw over 26,000 office visits and performed over 3,000 procedures last year.    Current partners are both busy cataract surgeons.  One has region’s largest refractive surgery practice while the other has largest oculoplastics practice in region.  A pediatric specialist will complement other specialties nicely.  As the largest practice in three counties with five offices, we have tremendous opportunity for rapid expansion and growth.  A large optometric, pediatric and primary care referral base is in place and existing partners both grew up locally and live in hometown.  A competitive base salary will also allow large additional bonus potential.  Partnership, ownership of practice, office real estate, and ownership of surgery center are all available with this position.  We believe earning potential is large and will depend on what level of ownership applicant desires and how hard applicant wishes to work.  Pediatric waiting rooms and marketing plan will help the applicant prosper quickly.  Both partners are on faculty at the Upstate Medical College and an active academic affiliation will be available to the applicant.  Call is equally shared between partners.

The Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern is now recruiting an additional Pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.  We seek an outstanding individual with an M.D. degree who is board certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  Successful completion of a Pediatric Ophthalmology fellowship is required.  Duties will include sharing in the responsibility, with existing faculty, for didactic and clinical training of residents and fellows and clinical care of patients at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center affiliated faculty practice sites.  The successful applicant must have demonstrated medical and surgical skills and interest in all aspects of Pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus.  An established interest in and/or willingness to pursue clinical research is desirable.

The West Virginia University Eye Institute is currently recruiting for a full-time certified or certifcation eligible orthoptist. We welcome responses from qualified and interested candidates. UC Davis Health System, School of Medicine, Ophthalmology & Vision Science Department, located in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Orthoptist to perform evaluations and  treatments for neuromuscular abnormalities of the eyes.Requires certification as an Orthoptist by the American Orthoptic Council, Canadian Orthoptic Council or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.   Advanced knowledge of Fresnel and spectacle prisms.  Advanced knowledge of normal eye movement. Ability to recognize the abnormality by performing the nine gaze movements.  Advance knowledge of strabismus in children and the procedures available to correct it and the importance of developing binocular vision in young children.  Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.  Knowledge of retinoscopy and manifest refraction and phoropter.
