Pre-Day: Strategic Business Concepts for Physicians and Administrators

AAPOS 46th Annual Meeting

March 25–29, 2020| Austin, TX

Pre-Day: Strategic Business Concepts for Physicians and Administrators

Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2020
Time: 8:00am-4:00pm
Fee: $125 (includes continental breakfast and boxed lunch)

Developed specifically for Pediatric Ophthalmology, the 2nd AAPOS Business PreDay will address core financial, operational and leadership challenges that practices face. Most physicians have never had formal practice management training leaving our practices more vulnerable than we would accept for patient care issues. This program targets ALL pediatric ophthalmologists, orthoptists and practice administrators regardless of practice type. Outside speakers and AAPOS members will address various strategies incorporating perspectives from both expert consultants and front-line practitioners. Topics include Financially Informed Practice Management, Personalized Leadership, Coding: Where Are We Leaving Money on the Table, Maximizing Efficiency and Painless HR: Motivation/Morale/Mentoring.

This interactive seminar will empower attendees to more carefully consider the business landscape and to incorporate strategies that advance practice performance. Bring your questions!

What members are saying about the last Business Pre-Day:

"The Socioeconomic Pre [Day] AAPOS Meeting was an incredibly helpful way to see how fellow pediatric ophthalmologists have implemented changes in their practice to better serve patients, improve efficiencies and to tackle some of the operational challenges that one may face during their career.  It was fascinating to hear from individuals in academia as well as private practice.  As a young ophthalmologist almost 5 yrs. out from fellowship, I left this meeting wishing this was in existence my first year out of training.  It was refreshing to have solutions to issues or a new framework with which to approach a problem rather than laments of the good ol' days. I have come back reinvigorated and with a few ideas to present to my colleagues that I hope will create some lasting changes.”   Poonam Doshi, MD
