Book Housing

A block of rooms is available at the Hyatt Regency Sydney from Wednesday, November 6th until Saturday, November 9th. The group rate will be honored two nights prior to and two nights after the main group date (Wednesday, November 6-Saturday, November 9), subject to availability. 

After you register for the meeting, click on the Book Hotel link and you will be directed to the housing site. Registration opens June 18, 2019. The group rate of $330 (AUD) a night is honored if rooms in the block are available. You can also book directly through this link.

The Hyatt Regency Sydney is in Sydney's Central Business District, adjacent to Darling Harbour and a 10-minute walk to the International Convention Centre. Many of Sydney’s top attractions are just a short walk away. The hotel is located just 30 minutes from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport.

The AAPOS, RANZCO, APSPOS Joint Meeting will be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC).

Located in the heart of Sydney, at the Darling Harbour on Cockle Bay, ICC Sydney is easily accessible by public transport, including light rail, ferry and train and is only a 10-minute walk from Central and Town Hall train stations.

Travel Tips

Visas: Unless you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, you'll need a a visa to enter Australia. For visa information, please visit the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website.

Australia Good and Services Tax: A Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10% is included in the ticketed purchase price of almost all consumer goods and services in Australia.

Currency: Australian money comes in both notes and coins. The notes are $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100. The coins are 5, 10, 20, and 50 cents and $1 and $2. Currency exchange centers are available at the international airport, in the city center, and at most banks and Australian post offices. All major credit cards (including Visa, Mastercard, American Express) are widely accepted in Australia. ATMS are available throughout the city and accept most common cards.

Tipping: Sydney doesn't operate on a tipping culture. You may tip to show your appreciation for good service, but it's not a requirement. As a guide, a tip of 10% in restaurants and taxis would be an indication that you were very happy with the service you received.

Sydney Climate: Sydney enjoys a pleasant and temperate year-round climate, with more than 340 sunny days a year. Local forecasts are available on the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology website.

Time Zones: Sydney is one of the first cities to wake up each day at 10-11 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) depending on the time of year.

Languages: English is Australia's official lanaguage.

Electricity: In Sydney and throughout Australia, the electrical supply is 240 volts, 50HZ
