PEDIATRIC Optometrist

Duke Health Pediatric Optometrist

North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat (NCEENT) is seeking a board certified/board eligible pediatric optometrist to join our multispecialty practice. The optometrist will be expected to function as an independent practitioner in a busy, disease-oriented practice at NCEENT, incorporating primary eye care for adults and children, and contact lens fittings.  NCEENT currently has one full-time pediatric ophthalmologist, and is looking to increase access for pediatric patients due to the large demand for pediatric eye care in the area.

NCEENT has a 100-year history in the Triangle, with multiple satellite locations and well-established relationships with referring pediatricians, hospitals and pediatric specialists in the area. The primary practice for the pediatric optometrist will be in Durham, with opportunities for practice at other NCEENT locations (Chapel Hill and Cary) depending on interest and need. Additionally, there is flexibility of scheduling with the opportunity for either full or part-time employment.

NCEENT is part of the Duke University Health System. The Duke Department of Ophthalmology has multiple pediatric optometrists in clinical and academic practice, and there is an opportunity to attend clinical rounds, lectures, and conferences if interested.

We seek a pediatric optometrist with outstanding clinical skills, experience in the management of eye disease, a strong interest in pediatric and adult eye care and contact lenses, and a desire to be in a busy clinical environment in which optometrists and ophthalmologists work in concert.

The Research Triangle Park is a globally prominent hub for high-tech research and development. Conceived around three major universities in Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh, the region attracts and fosters cultural diversity, economic resilience, and is nationally recognized as a great place to live and work.
