Official AAPOS Statement on 3D Exposure in Children

Nintendo and other large electronics makers have recently posted warnings advising that parents should limit the amount of time children under six years of age spend playing the new generation of 3D video games.  There is no published scientific data that shows or even suggests that play on such video games causes damage to the developing visual system.  While there are probably many valid reasons why children of all ages should have their time playing video games limited, based on current scientific data, damage to the child's visual potential is not one of them.
